And if you are worried that climatic changes will increase the whole-life cost of the roof, Redland has the solution. Our concrete and clay tiles, respectively manufactured to BS EN 490:2004 and BS EN 1304: 2005, are designed to provide the strength, water impermeability and freeze/thaw resistance required for the UK climate. Our free FixMaster fixing specifications ensures the optimum fixing, particularly for the perimeter areas of the roof that are most vulnerable to wind uplift, which are best served by mechanical fixing systems. These may increase the capital cost of the roof, but this is far outweighed by the lowering of whole-life costs due to zero-maintenance.
